Diamond wheel brushes are used for cutting edge preparation of carbide tools. Individual disc brushes are wound around a steel flange with very narrow working widths, at a cutting speed of about 15 m/s (oscillating).
The filament carries diamond, the hardest abrasive, for high cutting performance and long brush life. Controlled radiusing of the cutting edge avoids breakage and increases tool life.
