Osborn supplies cleaning and surface treatment chemistry to complete the polishing process. Water-soluble alkaline cleaners work at 160–175°F since most compound binders begin melting at 140°F; oil removal temperature depends on part geometry, oil type and equipment, from ambient up to 180°F.
