Liebherr blade bearings connect the blade root to the hub and let the blade rotate for pitch control. Besides single- and double-row four-point bearings, Liebherr offers triple-row roller bearings for pitch systems, greatly increasing load capacity as blades grow longer. Liebherr has supplied components for thousands of wind turbines, from 800 kW units to multi-megawatt offshore turbines, and works with virtually all major turbine makers.
Triple-row designs allow a smaller blade root diameter for the same blade length, or longer blades on the same bolt circle. Bearings are validated by lifetime tests on internal and external rigs and in the field.
Key features
- Higher load capacity per diameter
- Lower turning resistance, higher stiffness
- Weight and cost reduction
- Durable seals, application-optimised raceways
