Looking for an electric motor supplier in Vietnam that can ship to Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia or the Philippines? FEYANA supplies three-phase induction motors from Hyosung Heavy Industries (0.75 kW to 90 kW), Hyosung geared motors and Siemens Innomotics motors, with datasheets for 380 V, 400 V and 415 V supply. This guide explains how to specify an industrial motor correctly for a Southeast Asian project and what information to send for a fast quotation.

Why source motors from Vietnam?
- Short lead times to ASEAN ports: Vietnam is close to Singapore, Port Klang, Laem Chabang, Jakarta and Manila, which helps for spare motors and urgent replacements.
- One supplier for the whole drive train: motors, geared motors, gearboxes, couplings, bearings, belts, grease and variable frequency drives from one contact.
- Datasheets per voltage: our Hyosung motor pages list current, efficiency, power factor and torque at 380 V, 400 V and 415 V, so you can check the motor against your local supply.
Check your local supply before ordering
| Country | Typical low-voltage 3-phase supply | Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Singapore | 400 V | 50 Hz |
| Malaysia | 400/415 V | 50 Hz |
| Thailand | 400 V | 50 Hz |
| Indonesia | 380/400 V | 50 Hz |
| Vietnam | 380 V | 50 Hz |
| Philippines | Varies by site (commonly 230 V or 460 V) | 60 Hz |
Always confirm the voltage and frequency at the actual plant. A 50 Hz motor running on 60 Hz turns about 20% faster, which changes the load on pumps and fans; tell us the frequency so we can quote the right rating.
Hyosung motor range at a glance
Our electric motor category lists Hyosung Heavy Industries motors from 0.75 kW (1 HP) up to 90 kW (125 HP), each available with 2, 4 or 6 poles. Example from the 7.5 kW (10 HP) motor datasheet:
| Poles | Frame | Speed | Full-load current at 380 V | Efficiency at 100% load |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 132S | 2880 rpm | 15.8 A | 88.1% |
| 4 | 132M | 1465 rpm | 16.6 A | 88.7% |
| 6 | 160M | 965 rpm | 18.7 A | 87.2% |
Larger sizes such as the 15 kW (20 HP) and 37 kW (50 HP) motors follow the same structure on their product pages.
How to specify an industrial motor
- Power (kW or HP): size for the real shaft load with a sensible margin; do not oversize too much, because lightly loaded motors run at poor efficiency and power factor.
- Speed (pole count): 2-pole for high-speed centrifugal pumps and fans, 4-pole for most general machinery, 6-pole for slower, high-torque loads.
- Voltage, frequency and connection: e.g. 400 V 50 Hz, delta or star; check the nameplate connection for your supply.
- Mounting: foot-mounted (B3), flange (B5) or foot-and-flange (B35); vertical mounting for pumps.
- Enclosure and insulation: IP55 is a common choice for dusty and humid tropical plants; Class F insulation gives thermal margin in hot environments.
- Duty and starting method: direct-on-line, star-delta, soft starter or VFD; tell us if the motor will run on a VFD for long periods at low speed.
- Efficiency: for motors running many hours per day, higher efficiency pays back through lower electricity bills.
Typical motor sizes by application
| Application | Typical power range | Common pole count |
|---|---|---|
| Small conveyors, mixers, packaging machines | 0.75 – 5.5 kW | 4-pole, often with a gearbox |
| Cooling tower fans, ventilation fans | 2.2 – 30 kW | 4- or 6-pole |
| Water supply and process pumps | 5.5 – 90 kW | 2- or 4-pole |
| Air compressors | 7.5 – 90 kW | 2- or 4-pole |
| Crushers, mills, heavy conveyors | 15 – 90 kW and above | 4- or 6-pole |
These ranges are only a starting point; the right size always comes from the actual load. If you are replacing an existing motor, the nameplate is the quickest reference.
Tips for running motors in tropical conditions
- Keep cooling fins and fan covers clean; dust and oil reduce cooling and raise winding temperature.
- Use space heaters or keep motors energised periodically in very humid storage to avoid condensation in the windings.
- Measure insulation resistance before starting a motor that has been stored for a long time.
- Re-grease bearings with the correct grease and quantity at the interval recommended for the motor size and speed.
- Protect every motor with overload and phase-loss protection, especially on sites with unstable supply.
Need a geared motor instead?
For conveyors, mixers and slow-turning machines, a geared motor combines motor and gearbox in one unit. Hyosung offers parallel shaft (H series), right-angle (K series) and planetary (P series) geared motors. We can also quote Siemens Innomotics GP motors when a project specification calls for them.
What to send us for a fast quotation
- Nameplate photo of the existing motor (if it is a replacement).
- Power, poles/speed, voltage, frequency, mounting and enclosure.
- Quantity, destination port or city, and required delivery date.
- Any project requirements: test reports, packing, spare parts.
FAQ
Do you export motors from Vietnam to other ASEAN countries?
Yes. Send us your destination and quantity, and we will confirm availability, lead time and shipping options.
Can a 380 V motor run on a 400 V or 415 V supply?
The Hyosung datasheets on our site give performance at 380 V, 400 V and 415 V. Share your supply voltage and we will confirm the suitable version.
Which motor is best for a pump in a hot, humid plant?
A totally enclosed fan-cooled motor with IP55 protection and Class F insulation is a common choice; the pole count depends on the pump speed.
Do you also supply VFDs and gearboxes?
Yes, FEYANA supplies drives, gearboxes, couplings, bearings and lubricants, so the full drive train can come from one supplier.
