Poultry Farm Equipment from Vietnam: Cages, Feeding, Drinking and Climate Control

If you are sourcing poultry farm equipment from Vietnam for a project in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia or the Philippines, the key is to specify the house as one system: cages or floor system, feeding, drinking, manure removal, egg collection and climate control (fans, cooling pads, inlets and controllers). FEYANA supplies complete equipment packages from WENS-Nanmu together with SKOV climate components, ships from Vietnam across Southeast Asia, and supports buyers with layouts and quotations. This guide explains what each system does, how to choose it for hot and humid climates, and what information to send for an accurate quote.

1. Housing systems: layer, broiler and pullet cages

The cage type sets the bird density, the level of automation and the building size.

SystemTypical useNotes
A-frame layer cageSmall to medium layer farms, open or semi-closed housesFloor sloped 7–8° so eggs roll out gently; top mesh against pecking
H-frame layer cageLarge, closed, fully automated layer housesMulti-tier, higher birds per m² of floor; pairs with belt manure removal and automatic egg collection
Pullet cageRearing pullets before transferSpring-loaded doors, hot-dip galvanised or Al-Zn wire
Single-row / double-row broiler cageCaged broiler productionWide doors for inspection and harvesting, corrosion-resistant finish

For humid coastal sites, ask for the galvanising specification of wire and frames: corrosion is the main reason cages fail early in tropical farms.

2. Feeding systems

3. Drinking systems

A closed nipple drinking line keeps water clean and litter dry. Look for height adjustment by bird age, drip cups, double-seal nipples suited to local water quality, and a drinking system with front-end backflush and water monitoring. In regions with hard or iron-rich water, add filtration and a medicator at the header.

4. Manure removal and egg collection

  • Belt manure removal: the manure removal system uses PP belts with double scrapers and anti-misalignment control, cutting ammonia and flies in multi-tier houses.
  • Egg collection: the egg collection system uses a finger-type elevator and PP egg belts to bring eggs from every tier to one collection table.

5. Climate control for hot, humid Southeast Asia

Heat stress is the biggest production risk in tropical poultry farming. Most new commercial houses in the region are closed, tunnel-ventilated houses:

  1. Exhaust fans at one end pull air along the house. Options include the galvanised-frame fan (275 g/m² frame, IP55 class F motor) and the corrosion-resistant fibreglass fan.
  2. Evaporative cooling pads at the inlet end cool incoming air. WENS-Nanmu cooling pads come in 7090 and 7060 flute types.
  3. Tunnel doors and inlets control where air enters: the tunnel door with 50 mm flame-retardant panels, and SKOV-type wall and ceiling inlets such as the DA 1211/1911 wall inlet for minimum ventilation.
  4. Controllers and alarms: the DOL 2300/2400 alarm monitors temperature, humidity, water, empty silos and more, and the DOL 278 emergency opening opens inlets automatically if power or ventilation fails.

Ask your supplier to size fans and pad area from the target air speed, house cross-section and design outdoor temperature – undersized ventilation cannot be fixed later without major cost.

How to choose a poultry equipment supplier in Vietnam

  • Complete package: one supplier for cages, feeding, drinking and climate reduces interface problems on site.
  • Layout drawings: request house layouts, bill of materials and power requirements before ordering.
  • Materials: confirm galvanising thickness, stainless parts in wet zones and motor protection class.
  • Logistics: Vietnam offers short sea freight to Singapore, Bangkok, Port Klang, Jakarta and Manila; confirm packing, container loading and lead time.
  • Installation and spare parts: agree on installation guidance and a spare-parts list for the first years of operation.

Information to send for a quotation

  1. Bird type (layers, broilers, breeders, pullets) and target capacity per house.
  2. House dimensions, existing or new building, open or closed house.
  3. Country and site climate, power supply (voltage, phase, frequency).
  4. Desired automation level and any existing equipment to keep.

FAQ

Can I buy only part of the system, such as fans and cooling pads?

Yes. FEYANA quotes individual components as well as complete houses.

Is equipment from Vietnam suitable for Indonesia and the Philippines?

Yes – the climate is similar, and the equipment is designed for hot, humid conditions. Confirm voltage and frequency for motors before ordering.

Do you also supply pig farm and biogas equipment?

Yes. See pig farming equipment and biogas and manure treatment solutions.

Cage system or floor system for broilers?

Most broilers in Southeast Asia are still raised on litter floors in closed houses, using pan feeding lines, nipple drinking lines and tunnel ventilation. Caged broiler systems put more birds into the same building and simplify catching and cleaning, but they need higher investment, stronger ventilation and good manure handling. As a rule of thumb, floor systems suit farms that want lower capital cost and flexibility, while cage systems suit integrators building large new sites where land is expensive and labour is scarce. In both cases the climate system must be sized for the final stocking density, not the first flock.

Biosecurity and hygiene features to ask for

  • Closed drinking lines with backflush for water-line cleaning between flocks.
  • Stainless steel or heavily galvanised parts in wet and manure zones.
  • Belt manure removal in layer houses so manure leaves the house daily instead of building up under the cages.
  • Curtains or tunnel doors that seal tightly, so the house can be kept under controlled negative pressure.
  • Alarms for high temperature, power failure and water supply, because one hot afternoon without ventilation can cause heavy losses.
