Replacement of PVC, widely used plastic material for sewage and drainage pipes
PVC pipes that have been mainly used for sewage purposes are being replaced by PP pipes, especially in advanced countries, due to the high environmental impact of PVC (emission of plasticizers, dioxin generation during incineration, difficulty in recycling, lead stabilizer usage).
Furthermore, the higher rigidity of PP pipes compared to traditional PE pipes minimizes deformation and cracking during use, ensuring long-term durability.
Various products include general PP-B and high modulus HPPB
Starting in 2001, we began developing high rigidity, high impact HPPB grades for sewage pipes, and started exporting in earnest in 2003 after overseas field evaluations and processing improvements.
Through continuous technological development and production stabilization, we have expanded our sales from Europe and Oceania, where HPPB pipes are widely adopted, to the Middle East, Russia, the Americas, China and Southeast Asia. Moreover, sales of industrial pipes like plastic pipeline are also gradually increasing.
Building on this technological prowess, Hyosung Chemical offers various products, including high-rigidity HPPB with exceptional rigidity and impact resistance, and ultra-high modulus HPPB with further improved rigidity, in addition to general PP-B.
