Liebherr Frequency Converters & Energy Storage for Electric Ship Propulsion

Liebherr frequency converters and energy storage support ship electrification to cut emissions and fuel use. Electric thrusters give outstanding manoeuvrability, and Liebherr components combine into complete systems. Liebherr-Components (Liebherr Group) builds large-diameter bearings, gearboxes, electric motors, hydraulic cylinders, hydraulic motors and power electronics at ten production sites, working with classification societies such as ABS, BV, DNV and LR.

Modular converters allow redundant systems, are compact thanks to liquid cooling, can run multiple motors and are easy to service. Liquid-cooled double-layer capacitor storage covers power peaks and reduces installed drive power.
